TYLER BERG

Tyler is a Washington, D.C., native and currently working as a Product Manager for MBO Partners in the DC metro area. He graduated from BYU-Idaho in Business Information Systems in 2005. At BYU-Idaho he was the International Vice President for the business group Students in Free Enterprise (SIFE), where he helped lead the team to place in the top 12 at Nationals. SIFE opened his eyes to see how working with small local businesses can have a great impact on a community. Since his time at the university he has spent many hours volunteering with other organization such has Habitat for Humanity, the Red Cross, and multiple homeless shelters in the Northern Virginia area. Tyler is also currently working on starting his own on-line business that will help entrepreneurs fortify their business model.

VERONICA SCHINDLER

Veronica is a California native, born and raised in the Bay Area. Singular Humanitarian attended Brigham Young University, earning a bachelor’s degree in humanities with an English emphasis, and spent a number of years working in development communications for the Stanford University athletics department. Veronica was introduced to Singular Humanitarian in spring 2009 and joined the organization’s inaugural expedition to Guatemala. An avid traveler, the opportunity to serve while experiencing and learning about a new culture resonated with her. Following a “life changing” week with the Mayan Q’eqchi’ in the Polochic Valley, Veronica was eager to join Singular Humanitarian’s volunteer efforts on a long-term basis.

SCOTT PORTER

Scott is based in Southern California and is absolutely thrilled to be working together with Singular Humanitarian to bless the lives of people in need as well as fellow expeditioners. He has experience in the high tech, international business, international development, healthcare, and consulting industries. As an entrepreneur, leader, and executive advisor, Scott draws upon his diverse professional background in management consulting (Corporate Executive Board, InsideOut Development, General Assembly), public relations, senior healthcare management (Ensign Group, Aspen), toy/game industry (Reverse Charades), customer/brand experience, and aviation (Surf Air). He is currently involved in several new ventures in healthcare management, technology, and entertainment. He served an LDS mission in Tampico, Mexico, and holds a B.A. in public relations and an M.B.A. in international business, marketing, and entrepreneurship from BYU as well as an M.A. in Spanish from California State University-Sacramento. Born in Arizona, Scott was raised in Canada, is from Las Vegas, and has lived and worked in Guatemala, Costa Rica, Peru, and Mexico. Scott currently lives in Los Angeles.

NATALIE BURTON

Natalie was born and raised in Oregon, currently lives in Salt Lake City, and has lived several other amazing places along the way. After garnering multiple degrees from BYU and ASU and putting in what now seems like too many years working for corporate America, Singular Humanitarian decided to found her own company, Elder Allies, providing home care for aging seniors in Utah. Natalie lives peacefully with her two bikes, seven pairs of running shoes, one camera, a pair of snowshoes, and way too much camping and climbing gear. With an insatiable case of wanderlust, one never knows where you will find her next trip, but you can be guaranteed that it will probably be out on another adventure.
