All Singular Humanitarian positions are currently voluntary and unpaid.
The Executive and Steering Committee Leadership positions require a two-year committment.

EXPEDITION COORDINATOR

Under the general supervision of the Expedition Director, the Expedition Coordinator plans, organizes, schedules, and coordinates Singular Humanitarian logistics leading up to and following one humanitarian experience per year while working on a team to ensure quality and consistency of experience for participants.

•  Plan, develop, organize, schedule, and coordinate Singular Humanitarian experience(s) for registered participants
•  Attend regular coordination phone calls (with Expedition Director, Certified Expedition Leaders, team members, partnering organizations, and participants)
•  Communicate with partnering organizations to ensure all expedition logistics are known and prepared before travel at appropriate times
•  Record minutes and details from phone calls and logistical meetings and forward to appropriate team members
•  Maintain expedition checklists to ensure assignments are made and tasks are completed on-time
•  Schedule two orientation calls with partnering organizations, Singular Humanitarian expedition leaders, and expedition participants prior to travel
•  Ensure rosters and/or participant lists are up-to-date and develop good participant tracking during in-country workshops
•  Make assignments to Workshop Coordinator and expedition participants where needed
•  Ensure all tasks and deadlines are completed by team members
•  Obtain knowledge of budget each fiscal year to help monitor appropriate spending
•  Obtain prior approval from executive committee before purchase or approval of purchases for expedition supplies
•  Monitor inventory of expedition supplies
•  Evaluate programs and identify areas of success, deficiencies, and/or needed improvements
•  Report on progress of team to Expedition Director and Executive Committee
•  Promote Singular Humanitarian and recruit friends and neighbors for a memorable travel experience
•  Assist other team members and participants as needed
•  Perform other related duties as assigned by the Expedition Director

•  Experience: A minimum of one Singular Humanitarian expedition travel or closely related experience planning logistics for large groups to a foreign destination.
•  Leadership: A proactive and assertive approach towards coordination, to inspire and empower team members and participants and maintain the integrity of the expedition.
•  Knowledge of: Planning with flexibility all logistics leading up to, implementation, and evaluation of programs working with diverse personalities and cultures.
•  Communication Skills: Ability to communicate effectively using excellent written, oral, and listening skills to establish and maintain effective working relationships with team members, partnering organizations, and expedition participants.
•  Analytical Ability: Organize, delegate, and establish meaningful goals; self-motivated with the ability to work independently and on a team. Must have ability to multi-task and manage time and stress.

EXPEDITION REGISTRAR

Under the general supervision of the Expedition Director, the Registrar tracks and maintains up-to-date participant rosters for Singular Humanitarian expeditions once or twice a year and offers quick communication with partnering organizations and participants regarding the status of applications.

•  Send prompt acceptance/wait list/denial notification for expedition applicants
•  Establish rosters and/or participant lists and develop good participant tracking concerning application status
•  Continue to monitor status throughout the entire registration and pre-travel time period
•  Establish and maintain other records by unique category (such as talents, interest, etc.)
•  Communicate with partnering organizations to ensure unified understanding on status of applications and registration.
•  Evaluate rosters and registration system to identify areas of success, deficiencies, and/or needed improvements
•  Report on progress to Expedition Coordinator
•  Promote Singular Humanitarian and recruit friends and neighbors for a memorable travel experience
•  Assist other team members and participants as needed
•  Perform other related duties as assigned by the Expedition Director

•  Leadership: A proactive and assertive approach towards coordination, to inspire and empower team members and participants and maintain the integrity of the expedition.
•  Communication Skills: Ability to communicate effectively using excellent written, oral, and listening skills to establish and maintain effective working relationships with team members, partnering organizations, and expedition participants.

EDUCATION WORKSHOP COORDINATOR

Under the general supervision of the Expedition Director, the Education Workshop Coordinator plans, develops, coordinates, and works with volunteer participant leaders of Singular Humanitarian expeditions to provide in-country education workshops based on the needs of the destination.

•  Assist the Expedition Coordinator with logistical concerns and expertise regarding educational workshop needs in-country
•  Determine appropriate supply needs
•  Attend occasional coordination phone calls (with Expedition Director, team members, partnering organizations, and participants)
•  Make assignments to expedition participants where needed
•  Obtain knowledge of budget each fiscal year to help guide Expedition Director, Coordinators and participants and gauge spending
•  Promote Singular Humanitarian and recruit friends and neighbors for a memorable travel experience
•  Assist other team members and participants as needed
•  Perform other related duties as assigned by the Expedition Director and Expedition Coordinator

•  Experience: A minimum of one Singular Humanitarian expedition travel or closely related experience planning educational logistics for large groups to a foreign destination.
•  Leadership: A proactive and assertive approach towards coordination, to inspire and empower team members and participants and maintain the integrity of the expedition.

•  Expedition Director and Expedition Coordinator regarding all travel logistics and decision-making
•  Expedition Coordinator setting up conference calls with participant leaders and determining appropriate supply needs for in-country workshops
•  CHOICE and other partner organization expedition leaders on occasional phone calls for program quality assurance
•  Participants chosen as workshop leaders in-country to offer guidance and direction in their efforts to deliver consistent results

PRO-BONO TAX ACCOUNTANT

A member of the Finance team, the Non-profit Tax Accountant is responsible for filing annual taxes for the organization and assisting with any audits, as needed. As with all other roles within this organization, the accountant position is non-paid.

Lead the organization?s annual tax filings (preparation, signing on the organization?s behalf, and submission) and lead any audit prep in relation to taxes, as needed. Additionally, provide knowledge and assistance to the organization in relation to non-profit taxes.

CPA preferred but not required; Accounting degree required and non-profit tax experience strongly preferred.

Reports to Finance Director.

SOCIAL MEDIA COORDINATOR

Manage and grow the social marketing platform for the Singular Humanitarian brand including development of social media messages and content. Will support strategic social media marketing plans and execute initiatives resulting in increased awareness of Singular Humanitarian’s mission and sustainability. The Social Media Coordinator will be responsible for maintaining social media monitoring software tools, deploying long-term social media strategies, and tracking social media interactions.

•  Assist with the implementation and maintenance of comprehensive social media strategies that will increase brand visibility and traffic across all social platforms; this includes content development and community engagement and management
•  Assist in day-to-day management of Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, Pinterest, Youtube, Tumblr, Google +, SnapChat and other platforms where our clients have a presence
•  Develop plans for social broadcast, outreach and response, including editorial calendar for each social channel as needed.

•  A demonstrated capacity for understanding and applying marketing strategies and objectives
•  A strong work ethic: A self-starter who can solve problems creatively and work well with others in a virtual team environment
•  Excellent project and time-management skills with the ability to multitask and meet deadlines
•  Ability to write and source engaging and inspiring humanitarian travel stories for 25–40 year olds and disseminate information in an effective manner

Singular Humanitarian Marketing Director, Marketing Team, Webmaster, and Expedition Leaders

DIGITAL MEDIA and VIDEO COORDINATOR

As part of the Singular Humanitarian Marketing team, the Digital Media and Video Coordinator will work to ensure the successful creation and distribution of virtual information sessions, expedition videos, and marketing campaigns utilizing social media and video. The Digital Media and Video Coordinator will also facilitate best practices on media content management to support the needs to quickly produce marketing messages to support Singular Humanitarian’s brand and sustainability initiatives.

•  Help drive awareness and demand through effective video with engaging, persuasive content for a variety of channels, including website, email communications, newsletters, video scripts, and social media; repurpose existing content into new medium to support the future of Singular Humanitarian
•  Own the tone and voice of Singular Humanitarian through images and video
•  Manage video editing projects from concept to completion, including information gathering, content development, review, editing, proofreading, and final publication
•  Organize storage of all video and photos from past and future expeditions. Create an effective way to video and photo share post-expeditions as well as manage a process of pulling content for future marketing needs

•  A demonstrated capacity for understanding and applying marketing strategies and objectives
